SUS Scoring

Turns ten answers from 1 to 5 into a score from 0 to 100.

SUS = [Σ odd (answer − 1) + Σ even (5 − answer)] × 2.5

Worked example: If the ten adjusted scores add up to 32, SUS = 32 × 2.5 = 80.

Why it matters

The odd questions are positive and the even ones negative, so they are scored differently.

How to use it

  • For odd items, subtract 1 from the answer.
  • For even items, subtract the answer from 5.
  • Add all ten, then multiply by 2.5.

Example

Answering 3 to everything gives a score of 50.
